Strengthening Coordination for More Effective Protection

Counterfeiting, intellectual property infringements and emerging forms of fraud require a collective, structured and coordinated response.

No institution, company or authority can effectively act alone against increasingly cross-border, technology-driven and complex challenges.

ACTA-GM works to strengthen dialogue, facilitate exchanges and develop sustainable cooperation mechanisms between institutional stakeholders involved in protecting markets, innovation and consumers.

Building Bridges Between Institutional Stakeholders

ACTA-GM acts as a cooperation platform fostering collaboration between:

  • Customs administrations, at the forefront of combating illicit flows and handling suspicious goods detentions;
  • Law enforcement and investigative agencies, involved in investigations, dismantling criminal networks and field operations;
  • Judicial and administrative authorities, playing a key role in enforcement, prosecution and legal protection mechanisms;
  • Intellectual property offices, supporting rights protection, awareness and economic stakeholders;
  • Regional and international organisations, contributing to dialogue, common standards and capacity-building.

Regional and International Cooperation

ACTA-GM develops initiatives in collaboration with institutional partners and international organisations engaged in intellectual property, consumer protection, culture, trade and capacity-building.

This notably includes exchanges and cooperation with:

  • European and international institutions
  • Regional intellectual property offices
  • Organisations dedicated to innovation, culture and international trade protection
  • National and regional competent authorities.

Key institutional partners include WIPO, the European Union, EUIPO, OAPI, ARIPO, UNESCO, as well as national intellectual property offices, customs administrations and institutional stakeholders.

Promoting Coherent and Coordinated Action

Effective intellectual property protection depends on:

Sharing Information and Best Practices: Encouraging regular exchanges to better understand trends, emerging risks and operational realities.

Capacity Building: Developing training programmes, workshops, technical seminars and multi-stakeholder meetings to strengthen expertise and cooperation mechanisms.

An Approach Adapted to Local Realities: Taking regulatory, economic and cultural specificities into account to ensure more relevant and sustainable responses.

Building Collective Solutions: Through institutional dialogue, regional training programmes and cooperation platforms, ACTA-GM seeks to strengthen collective capacities, facilitate exchanges and promote a more coherent response to today’s intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting challenges.

Because effective cooperation remains one of the strongest drivers of sustainable protection.
