Federate and Mutualize
Building a Collective Approach to Intellectual Property Protection
At a time when counterfeit networks are becoming increasingly professionalised, regionalised and adaptive to technological, regulatory and geopolitical changes, isolated responses quickly reach their limits.
ACTA-GM was created from a simple observation: no single stakeholder can effectively address challenges that go beyond borders, sectors and traditional institutional frameworks.
Our mission is to bring together rights holders, public authorities, institutions, experts, strategic partners and economic stakeholders around a common vision of intellectual property protection, anti-counterfeiting efforts and consumer protection.
Creating a Regional Cooperation Dynamic
ACTA-GM acts as a platform for dialogue and action to develop sustainable cooperation mechanisms across Africa, the Greater Maghreb and the Mediterranean basin.
This approach aims to:
- Multiply the impact of local initiatives through the sharing of expertise, tools and operational experience;
- Facilitate exchanges between authorities, rights holders and partner institutions to strengthen the consistency of interventions;
- Develop coordinated responses to cross-border challenges, including illicit trade flows, emerging distribution channels and evolving counterfeiting models;
- Build sustainable regional synergies capable of adapting to the economic, cultural and regulatory realities of each territory.
An Approach Grounded in Local Needs
To ensure practical and effective action, ACTA-GM relies on an in-depth assessment of local needs for both authorities and rights holders.
This includes:
Identifying Local Priorities:
Understanding country, territorial and sector-specific challenges in order to design responses adapted to local realities.
A Cross-Sector Approach:
Supporting all sectors exposed to fraud and counterfeiting risks, including consumer goods, automotive, luxury, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agri-food, cultural industries and digital content.
Addressing Tangible and Intangible Goods:
Developing strategies covering both physical products and intangible assets, including trademarks, creative works, copyright, audiovisual content, new forms of piracy and digital infringements.
Pooling Resources for Greater Impact:
By bringing together expertise, experience and resources, ACTA-GM aims to foster a more coherent, sustainable and effective approach to intellectual property protection, built on cooperation, prevention and collective action.
